C-CAT Exam Preparation

C-CAT CDAC entrance exam

(This all are my experiences and nothing to do with CDAC official announcements, 

this information may not be reliable and may not show up in your actual exam :p  )

This exam comprises of three Parts A,B,C where

part A - Aptitude + English

part B - Computer Science basics

part C - Electronics Basics

How to prepare: (mostly same as placement preparation)

Part A:

The questions of this portion are same as that of your earlier placement practice problems and also

you will face the same set of questions when you will sit for placements after CDAC diploma. So, its a good time to start.

-You don't need much more than R.S. Agarwal Quantitative Aptitude book.

-For English part look for the (Don't work much as it is of less weight-age)

- the use of articles (a,an,the)

- fill in the correct article/preposition

- finding the mistake in the sentence

- some tough English words(I'm not sure)

Part B:

-Simple C based questions(Tell Output, Identify errors, etc.) - look for placement page for some links.

-Questions on Operating Systems Concepts and Networking Question

-Famous Acronyms

Part C:

-semi-conductor devices , electronic devices and circuits ,

-explained later in myths

Common myths:

1.Part C is for EC students (or students with electronic background)

This is not true i suggest you to write all three exams as it is just a matter of an hour to sit in exam room. Embedded System is more CS playground then that of electronics. So, consider this as one of your choices.If by some way you get good rank in A+B+C consider taking Embedded System as it may land you in a good job.

2.Part C contains core electronics stuff?

I may not be in favor of this as the exam has only basic electronics questions which every CS/EC/EE/IT/SE student studies in their initial phase of bachelors degree.
